Developer Alcove Ireland Eight has opened three separate consultations with An Bord Pleanála seeking to build 645 units in the village.
These proposals, if they were would constitute a 66% increase of the size of the village which currently has just over 1000 housing units and is home to 3000 people.
The proposals dwarf the 85 extra units earmarked for the village in the proposed 2020-2026 development plan which identifies 215 existing planning permissions in the area.
The consultation details can be viewed here:
Delvin Ridge – 71 houses, 52 apartments
Silverstream – 110 houses, 74 apartments
Cockhill Road – 208 houses, 130 apartments
These consultations are not open to public submissions but are a compulsory step for developers looking to make strategic housing applications.
